It wasn't my initial intention but I've managed to book a classic award (64,000 points) which will result in miles flown of 14,723 (according to the route mileage indicator on ITA? It gets me back form CDG-SYD via JFK-MIA-LAX-NAN-BNE (I may need a few days to recover). Has anyone found a bookable route that is any closer to 15,000 miles?

Is this important? I am new to all this so don't get the point here, is there some value in getting 15000 miles?

If it doesn't matter if you win or lose.......How come they keep score?

More miles equals more points - elementary!

It's actually about how close you can get to the 15,000 mile limit in a single trip for a 64,000 point award (Y, of course).

Absolutely, getting maximum value without going over the limit that would result in needing to spend more miles, ie getting value from the miles spent!

I still don't see the point? I'd be happy that you got where you wanted for a reasonable price, but I wouldn't be going out of my way to add extra legs just for better "value for money". For a classic award anyway, an xASA is a completely different story ;)

Now I am confused. Could be he late nights. But do lassie awards earn points and SC's? Or am I just to getting the message here?
