Classic Award - January

I am wanting to get 5 classic awards from Melbourne (or Sydney) to Los Angeles and return for January 2013.
Does anyone know what chance I will have of doing this at that time of the year?

Very slim to zero chance, but I have managed SYD-LAX at the end of January and returned in February when everyone else is coming home. Be prepared to pay up at that time of year with anyseat reward or cold hard cash.

If it's a family holiday and you don't want to spend $15K in airfares then go in Feb or March and the kids can miss school. :mrgreen:

January 2013, you need to get on exactly 355 days before as noted. You might want to consider mid week travel. As mentioned this is a very popular route. Are the awards in economy or business? Obviously economy might be easier to get.

Thank you very much for your info. I will be online 355 days beforehand and had a thought that I could also try Honolulu return if I can't get LA.
Don't know if that would be easier to come by.
