Classic reward booked; ticketed as points plus pay?

Hi folks, I booked classic reward flights from BNE to LAX on 13/11 with taxes listed as $715.46. There was 41,900 points per person deducted immediately. The flights were then ticketed on 15/12 as points plus pay flights and my credit card was charged $2155 (an overcharge of $1440). When I rang them, they said they were booked as points plus pay, but they definitely weren’t. I book rewards flights frequently and know what I’m doing. Also, on my activity statement, it shows them as classic reward flights for the deduction of points. They can’t tell me what the extra money is for if it’s Kot taxes and the points deducted are correct for classic reward flights. I have called so many times; lodged a customer care complaint and even gone to Twitter - all to no avail. I then tried to cancel and they told me I would only be refunded $715 not the $2155 they deducted! And then told me that they were not cancellable due to being points plus pay anyway…..ahhhhh - Any ideas?

When are you travelling? Perhaps a credit card charge back (after you've already flown) is an option. It might be worth calling your bank to see if there's a time limit to this.

and let us know if it works.
