Classic Rewards: Dynamic pricing?

Qantas's Red Tail sale to San Francisco lists lowest points fares as 41,900 to SF plus 173,621 return; the Qantas Classic Rewards site lists Zone 10 flights as the most expensive in terms of points, at 55,200 one-way. Does this mean Classic Rewards are now based on dynamic pricing, rather than an absolute figure for each zone? What am I missing?

What do you mean by the plus 173,621 return?

41,900 is correct. It's zone 8 (not zone 10).

The return sounds like a commercial seat (points plus pay).

If using the main QF search page, select “Use points“ and “Flexible dates” after you press search click “Reward seats“ to only show flights/days with Classic reward seats available.

You're likely not looking at a classic reward but just straight payment by points.

The sale site lists both the outward and return flights as "Economy Classic Reward" fares.
