Has anyone had experience booking Qantas Classic Rewards flights flying Fiji Airways and as a Points Club member (not PC+) whether or not you have received Qantas Status Credits for doing so?

I'm aware that the T&C suggests you should, except that it only applies to QF Codeshare flights, AND when you book a Classic Rewards flight you get booked using the partner's flight number (eg FJ), not the QF number ... SO therefore if you follow the T&C to the letter you should NOT receive Status Credits, however...

When I raised the question on FB almost everyone said "No SC", except one person who said, "I have received them with AA recently".

Since that post I too have received them when flying via AA as a QFCR, however, it was an odd situation because my original flight was on QF75 which was cancelled.

So just clarifying that the question is - has anyone had experience of booking Qantas Classic Rewards flights flying Fiji Airways and as a Points Club member (not PC+) whether or not you have received Qantas Status Credits for doing so?

Welcome to AFF :D

Sometimes the can be an error in one's favor. However, given such is obviously an error one should not make decisions based on the error continuing.

As you indicated I doubt you would earn on FJ given the T&C's.

Not really sure why you are only after responses from PC members and not PC+? AFAIK the benefits in terms of status credits on reward flights are the same.

Anyway, I am PC+ and recently flew FJ in J (booked with QFF) SYD-NAN-YVR. No SCs.

Flights/airlines that do give SCs not strictly in accordance with the T&Cs are generally thought of as a Fight Club situation.

There was a time when you could book some FJ operated classic awards with a QF flight number, and these did earn SC if you were a Points Club or Points Club Plus member. But I think that hole has been plugged and it's no longer possible.

I was never able to recreate that magic trick (book FJ metal with QF code as a CR). But have seen it mentioned elsewhere.

I know you can search flights and a codeshare can be presented (QF code) for sale with $$$ but if a CR is available and you select that the flight code changes to the operating carrier code eg FJ (EK flights also do this). I wonder how many don’t click through and assume it’s possible to book the QF codes?

Meanwhile, the AA situation is slightly different. Using AA miles and booking QF metal/QF code should earn if PC and QFF details are entered (should also work redeeming points from other partner airlines).

I’ve never received bank error in my favour flying AA on QFF points but have on BA (another “loop hole” closed).
