Not one to usually ask questions but this appears to be an atypical situation, correct me if I am wrong.

I am also affected by the QF87/88 schedule changes(On a QF J reward booking); there was an option through Auckland involving NZ75 that would get me into Seoul at the required time. Couple of questions, does QF issue the ANZ flight BP's at QF check in or not? (QF transtasman is the first leg). Also I wouldn't be able to select seats as there appears to be no associated ANZ PNR?

Not sure if these are silly questions or not but appreciate any help.

1. Yes, QF should be able to issue NZ BP at point of embarkation on a through (online/interline) ticket. At least it will be on QF stock, but be for the NZ flight. You could always get reissued in AKL of course.

2. There must be a NZ PNR - QF don't usually make these easily available but have a look at the booking via rj.com or finnair.com and see if it shows, or contact QF regarding it.

I will point out that you should ensure you have you frequent flyer number entered for both the Qantas (OneWorld) and Air New Zealand (Star Alliance) sectors since it is not uncommon for you to receive points and status credits on said flights. For instance, when I had an Air Canada award booking cancel on me (and then rebooked onto Asiana business) I ended up earning full J earn for that flight crediting it to United MilagePlus.

Not a guarantee but something to keep in mind. I wish you the best in maximizing the value you can extract from Qantas for this inconvenience.
