Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...

I'm flying on AA in December with my parents DCA-xDFW-LAX, with the tickets for the three of us on two different PNRs. It ended up like this because that was the only way I could figure out to book myself into first and my parents into economy online. I'm on a P fare ticket and my parents are on Q fares.

I was wondering if there's any benefits to linking PNRs and if so anyway to do so. I noticed that OW status members receive free baggage allowances on domestic flights and this would be very handy. (Our trip LAX-JFK is all under the one PNR in economy (Q) and I assume this benefit already applies?)

Thanks in advance

I'm wondering about this too. I booked a ORD-DCA return ticket and a ORD-LAS ticket because it was cheaper then buying a one-way ORD-DCA and a separate one-way DCA-ORD-LAS ticket. Thought it might be worth a call to help with the check in process.

For the major GDS's it seems PNR's cannot be merged.

They can be linked ("TCP'ed") but that is unlikely to assist with checked luggage.

I presume you mean ORD-DCA and DCA-LAS!

That's a different issue and, with AA, it seems that if you have bother E-tickets with you on check-in at ORD they will through check your luggage to LAS (as long as the DCA connection meets MCT).

I guess checked luggage isn't really a problem as I get three bags in First anyway plus whatever we can carry-on (original plan is to carry-on all the way anyway, but NY shopping... lol) Mainly wanted my status to be "given" to their PNR for access to preferential seating (if there is any for OW Ruby)

With seating your best bet is to call and ask on the grace of your travel in First. It really depends on the agent you get and whether they would queue any such request to "seating".
