Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

Hrmm... have met min spend on the card (no transactions pending)... still no bonus points.

Might give it a day or two before calling - never had a CBA credit card, so definitely qualified.

I met the minimum spend overnight when a whole bunch of pendings went to cleared. I will report back on how long it takes the points to post (direct to QF as I fear Velocity is going to get gutted).

FWIW I haven't had a CBA credit card since 2013 (so definitely eligible) and my card was activated about 2 weeks ago.

Will be interested to know how you go as QFF direct. I'm CBA rewards so we'll get good data for how long each program takes!

Took just over a week from hitting spend go bonus points being credited under CBA awards program.

Won't keep this card in my own name, but might be worthwhile Mrs tizey to hold with a supp should we get the chance to travel next year. Just got to make sure we have $2500 go through each month.

buggers swapped me to a lower card with a lower limit without telling me.
Disgraceful way to treat a 40+ year customer

Has anyone had any luck obtaining the original applied for card after being downgraded to a lower card?
i.e. Applying for a Ultimate Awards card but being offered the Base Awards card?

Just applied for this card (gonna give bonus points chasing a bit of a rest after this), and eek I saw some people being offered the base awards card instead during the application.

Maybe they think they can't make a profit off you which is why they do that. Or credit limit is too high. Not sure.

I met the minimum spend very quickly after the card turned up. I opted in to Qantas points.

For the benefit of anyone else my points posted to Qantas between 4 and 8pm on the day after the first statement was issued.

Does anyone know if transactions with TransferWise and revolut are treated as cash advances ? Does one earn points ?

I think I will play it safe when it comes to frequent flyer points and just go for Qantas as well (even though it cost $30/year extra). 1.2 QFF points per dollar on international transactions and no foreign transaction fees is something at least.

anyone know if in the month you close the account, are you charged $35 fee if you dont have the $2,500 spend met in the month which you close?

Technically it shouldn’t . Besides they should let your Know if any further charges will apply before you close . They can’t apply charges post closure .

Also, I can confirm that it uses the Mastercard exchange rate and not their own one for international transactions at 1.2 QFF per dollar. So yeah probably the best card if you make a lot of international purchases and you are able to spend $2500 a month.

If you opt into qff , can you still redeem for other ff programs ? How often can you switch ?

You can opt into qff but it will cost $30 a year. So basically you can opt out at month 11 of qff direct and then you can redeem for the other airlines.

Did the points get transferred together to Qantas (so bonus points + regular spend points) in 1 transaction, or are 2 separate transactions (1 transaction with bonus points and another transaction with regular spend points) that show up on your Qantas points statement?
