Can anyone tell me, does the companion take your SCs for companion gold, or do they stay with you and count toward your requal?

Also, does the companion gold then have to accrue 400 or 500 for requal?

No, you retain the SC's unless you have selected family pooling. My +1 only needed 400 to requal after getting companion gold.
