I am wondering wether anyone has come across something like an Airline Ombudsman?

i am having a world of issues at the moment with Qatar Airways where they will refuse to communicate with me regarding a DVT I got whilst travelling on a long haul. Very hard to get anywhere when no one will respond from the airline and they say the case is closed even though they have admitted they had a problem with heat. I need help from an industry body as I am finding they are a law unto themselves....any help is greatly appreciated.

Airline Customer Advocate (ACA)

Unless a significant numbers of passenger had problems you have no chance of a favorable outcome IMHO. Health is a personal matter

Sorry but I don't think DVT is an airline issue. What are you trying to achieve?

One of the main causes of DVT is dehydration, when an aircraft is faulty to the point that you are sweating in your seat for 7 hours then the airline has to assume some responsibility. The airline has admitted they have a fault. I see this as an airline issue.

having problems replying to your post...not being rude!!

working now..I have stat decs and airline saying there was a problem. My personal health isn't an issue. Not trying to stir a nest....just the general question of is there an organisation that assists with these matters. Thx for the link....only applies to Australian airlines so doesn't help with Qatar

Sounds like there is more to this story.. are you able to explain ? did they not offer water ? or did you ask and they did not have any ? was the aircon to hot ?

there would have been 250-300 other people on the aircraft , did they have the same issue ? I am sure if they did it would have made the news....

The ACA is only applicable to Australian based airlines anyway, so would not help against Qatar.
