Ok, this may or may not sound a bit strange. Heading to Hawaii with everything booked and ready to go, including car hire on Oahu and Maui - both booked through Hertz (Presidents Circle here) one paid one free days.

We are now going to do a day trip to the Big Island to do the volcanoes etc. We are doing our own thing (no group bus or anything) and just want to rent a car for either side of the helicopter tour.

Now, I don’t have to go through Hertz I suppose, but just want to book another car through them either paid or free day, but I’ll still have the rental going in Honolulu as we’ll just leave the car at the airport.

Anyone run into any problems doing this before or know if it’s ok to have two rentals going on the same day in different cities?

I've done it previously in Australia. I flew to another state capital city for a weeks work and during that time had to fly to a regional centre for the day. Left the car at the airport and hired a new for the day.

All bookings done prior to travel without issue.

Did you get credits for both? Assuming it was Hertz Gold Plus Rewards, of course.
