Does anyone know which flights she is travelling to PER on?

Does she have her own plane or commercial?

I passed her on the way to the airport and gave a big wave .... to all the motorcycle cops who were having a fat time zooming from intersection to intersection.

I did get green lights all the way to the domestic terminal turnoff so that was nice! So now I have just 6 hours to kill before the Sydney flight. I think this means I will depart shortly before Ms Rice, as I think her stopover is barely 18 hours. She must be shagging Stephen Smith to bother doing such a short (and pointless) trip to Perth!

Cheers,

Andrew

It was a 737-700 or by its military designation, C-40B.

The motorcade was heading to the University of WA, for dinner at the UWA Club. I wish I got green lights all the way to uni!!

Well, not totally pointless. Dr Rice is visiting SAS HQ tomorrow, where I imagine she will have some very high praise for their role in Iraq/Afghanistan.

i would have thought shed be on something with a bit longer range, surely a 737 would need refueling a couple of times between the US and PER.

If they have fitted the extra fuel tanks that the RAAF BBJs (Range 11,390km - reference) have, I am sure they can traverse the Pacific with just one stop in Hawaii (I guess they would use the Hickham side of HNL) If they dont have the extra range, then SYD-NAN-HNL-LAX would be accesable.

Canberra-Hickam-Andrews is done regularly (or at least from time to time) with these aircraft.

A C40B is not a 737-700 but a hybrid of the next generation models, it combines the 737-700 fuselage with the wings and landing gear from the 737-800 (but not the aft section like in the BBJ). Max range is 4500-5000nm and her aircraft has the comms suite.

After Auckland she has a stopover for a couple of hours in Apia, Samoa (APW) to meet with Pacific island foreign ministers, so plenty of time to refuel.
