Hi guys,

Yesterday I reached Gold QFF, and now have 720 SCs. I joined QFF in Feb '06, and my account page says I need to get the additional SCs (680) to reach Platinum by Feb '07. Fair enough.

What I'm confused about...is what happens if I don't reach platinum by Feb '07? Will I be bumped down? Or will I retain Gold?

The reason I ask is - while I haven't got my Gold card yet, my Silver card says valid until 02/08...so am I right in assuming I'll retain my Gold status until Feb '08 (regardless of what happens), but will lose some SCs after Feb '07?

Very confused here. I'll probably have some big SC opportunities coming up...but not until after Feb '07.

I'd appreciate any advice. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

Hmm...I just noticed this in the T&Cs:

"19.1.6 Membership status levels are valid for a minimum of one year. After that time, retention or attainment of a status level is dependent upon the number of Status Credits earned."

So why would my Silver card say it expires on 02/08...when I attained silver around 06/06?
Edit: Never mind... "Status reassessment will occur: 29 Feb 2008"

I'm still confused as to what will happen if I don't reach Plat by Feb '07 though. ie: How many SC's I'll lose...

Cheers,
- Febs.

Your membership year is running from 1st March 2006 - 28 February 2007

You are currently accruing status credits to determine your membership status for next year ( 1st March 2007 - 29 February 2008 ).

The 1st 300 Status credits you earned ensured that you would maintain your silver status next year.
The next 400 Status credits you earned ensured your gold membership for next year.
Should you reach 1400 SCs for the year , then you will be assured Platinum membership next year

When you cross a threshold to a higher status, your membership level is raised immediately ( as has happened to you with Gold status ), so you will have gold status for the rest of this year as well as for next year

Should you cross the 1400 threshold, then you will be immediately promoted to Platinum status

On the 1st March your annual Status Credit counter will reset to zero and you will then have 1 year in order to attain the 600SCs to maintain Gold for 2008-2009 ( or 1200 to maintain Platinum should you manage to reach it this year )

AHh, thanks Dave. That makes it much clearer. :)

That's the part I was most confused about. Wasn't sure if my SCs went all the way to 0 on the membership anniversary. So 600 to achieve Gold next again for 08-09...that should be doable. :)

Thanks mate. :)

Careful here. Assuming you do not reach Platinum this membership year then you are Gold until Feb 2008 but you need 600 SC's in 07-08 to retain Gold again for 08-09.

No he doesn't. He has, as I said, earned the points required for his March 07 - Feb 08 Gold membership. During period March 07- Feb 08 he needs to earn 600 SCs to retain gold for the March 08 - Feb 09 menbership year

John, Dave,

I think there's a bit of confusion in the wording there..

John - what I meant by my post was (as Dave said) - I'll need to get 600 SCs between Mar '07 and Feb '08 to retain Gold for Mar '08 to Feb '09 (assuming I don't reach Plat before Feb '07).

Cheers,
- Febs.

 Sorry. That is what I meant to post but carelessly left out that you needed 600 SC's in 07-08 to retain Gold for 08-09. I have fixed my original post and again sorry for confusion caused.

Its a real shock to check your QFF account on line and see "Expired Status Credits -1425" or someting.

Just think how I felt last year when it said "Expired Status Credits - 3660". Oh well, this year was not so bad when it read "Expired Status Credits - 0" :p.

NM is that the highest SC's youve had in a year

Yes, that was my highest year, and almost all of them earned in a 4 month period (May to August). Only once prior to that did I hit Partner Gold and finished somewhere around 2800 SCs from memory.

Go Nelly! :D

This year I'm gunna have over 2400 SC's "Expire" (Shocking term, IMO something better/more positive could be used). For me that's a record; in fact last years was a receord as well. It was only two years ago that I had a previous max of 880; I thought what a waste of 280 SC's. :-|

I remember a posting sometime in January last year where I had a total of just over 4000 LT SC's; that was about 10 weeks after I first posted on AFF. I now have achieved QG LT PS and am well on the way to doubling that 4000 figure.

AFF (&FT) Rock ... says me Flounging in the Wing in HKG!!

The year previous to my highest record I finsiehd with 1210 in the last week of my membership year.

The year after I logged the grand total of 0 SCs (but lots of AA EQPs and Miles ).

The reason I asked was I thought I remembered someone having 3600, or 4600 SC's in one year. I had 3000 last year and that was tough, but with someone having 4600 on a year, geez.

Actually 4765 SC's to be exact.

Some amazing SC's accumulation to be found in this thread.

Thanks for that John K, tried (not too hard) to find that thread but obviously didn't use the correct keywords.
