Hi all,

I'm a bit confused about the Platinum One status credits requirement and the 'loyalty bonus' status credits (which apparently didn't count for P1, then did for a bit during the pandemic, then now don't again?).

See screenshot of my current status here:

Confusingly - 150 of my status credits this year have come from these 'Loyalty Bonuses' - which (searching the web) seem to have (maybe?) been counted towards P1 until June 30th.. but two of these were credited after June 30 2023, and yet it says that I still only need 1060 status credits to get to P1 (which I will receiv, in the next 5 weeks, from flights).

Am I missing something, or is the Qantas website not reporting correctly?

The loyality bonus are still crediting for me towards p1. I would think if they are counted on the website it would be hard and bad press for Qantas to reverse them. Not that they really care, even for P1

I think they have been for me too. Bit hard to tell as I’m way over the 3600 threshold.
I have been selecting them to chip away at LTP.

I still feel confident that we can make LTP before 2123. With QF having sub par offerings for international flights we chose SQ and QR to get to LAX and LHR. We still use QF for flights around Australia.

Loyalty bonus is only earned on the status credits you earn flying JetStar or Qantas marketed flights. In other words, any double status credits don't count to it (i.e. just those base status credits accrued). Similarly, any status credits earned from a loyalty bonus don't count towards the 2700 status credits earned on flights you took containing a Qantas flight number which are needed for status.

What I do find confusing is how it says you only need 240 more status credits with Qantas despite only earning 1,525 on QF/JQ flights. The math just doesn't seem to be mathin'

FYI I just noticed this on the bottom of the this page with a 31 Dec 2024 date:

# For the purposes of the Loyalty Bonus, the Status Credits earned must be from eligible Qantas or Jetstar Group flights (JQ, 3K and GK) within a single Membership Year. Loyalty Bonus can be earned up to four times each Membership Year, to a maximum Loyalty Bonus of 32,000 Qantas Points or 200 Status Credits. If selected, Loyalty Bonus Qantas Points do not count towards attaining or retaining Points Club or Points Club Plus, or unlocking the Points Club Milestone Bonus Reward. If selected before 31 December 2024, Loyalty Bonus Status Credits do count towards reaching and keeping Platinum One status. The Loyalty Bonus reward must be selected within 90 days from the date a member achieves the Loyalty Bonus. Once selected the reward cannot be changed.
