I have a non-refundable booking for the Conrad Centennial Singapore for two nights in mid-January, but now find I need a third night. Unfortunately, the hotel is completely booked out on that night. I have up to $500 compensation for the third night, needing to provide receipts.

In your collective experience, is there any chance that the third night will become available closer to the date I need? Am I better to wait and keep checking? Or just book the Raffles for the third night? Or move to the Hilton? Any suggestions?

Once you're in there......let them know well in advance and communicate regularly.

Nice hotel btw

I have decided to book the third night at the Hilton. I am looking at a King Hilton Executive Plus room using the AAA Stay and Save rate. This way I think I get the best room for under the allowed US$500. And if the Conrad has a room for the third night then I can cancel the Hilton with a day's notice.

Have I got all this right?

Will my RACWA card qualify for the AAA rate?

Sounds likeareasonable plan.

The should accept you RAC card, however woud call them

What's the rate?

Thank you, sprucegoose, for your advice to ring the hotel.

The rate is S$513 + S$90.80 which converts to US$493, so under my US$500 limit.

Still very pricey. I paid a small ransom for the Hilton recently as well.

I am just looking for the best outcome, given I have been allocated US$500 to cover my costs for the night. This is due to the late departure of a cruise ship. My husband was interested in the Raffles, but their rates were >US$650. I figured that being HHonours Gold, thanks to serfty, I may as well take advantage of the Gold benefits at the other Hilton chain hotel in Singapore.

I emailed the Hilton in Singapore and they have replied that the RACWA is a member of AAA. So I will make the booking in the morning.
