We have a 24 stopover in Singapore, arriving 9.00 am Thursday & departing 9.00 am Friday. I will be HH gold when we get there and the Conrad looks pretty nice, (better than the Hilton), but also more of a business hotel so not sure how we'd go with a 6 month old baby?

I don't know Singapore that well and am not sure of the Conrad's location. Not interested in shopping, but we do want to be somewhere good for walking about - our last stay in Singapore was close to Boat Quay / Clarke Quay and we enjoyed that location.

Any comments on the Conrad, baby friendliness, and location would be most helpful, thanks in advance.

Its not a bad location at all, Suntec will keep you busy!

Can't comment on baby friendliness, but the 4 times I stayed there (in 2008) as a HH Gold, staff were extremely helpful.

Location is in right in the middle of three shopping centres, but very close to Singapore Flyer and the new casino area (still a construction site, but gradually opening various features). Also not far from river front that leads to the Esplanade, and eventually Boat Quay, which is quite pleasant especially in the evenings with the Fullerton Hotel lit up.

Aside from the shopping centres, always felt the Conrad was a bit out of way. However with the casino opening and now (if you don't mind catching the MRT), it now is very close to two MRT stations on the new circle line, which it makes fairly easy to get around from (not sure with a baby if MRT is easier or more difficult than taxis).

Thanks for the info.

Would the Hilton be a better option than the Conrad?

I am not sure if the difference if you are not interested in shopping, I always checked out the supermarket at Suntec just to get an idea of what the locals buy etc, the fresh food was always interesting. You are not that far away from Boat Quay etc.

+1 Hilton is right on Orchard Road, where there is not much else but shopping (maybe a 20-30min walk to the botanic gardens is the closest non shopping attraction). Conrad is closer to the river/waterfront and colonial district areas.
