Junior Albatross710 is about to turn 18 and is looking to head to Europe on a 20 day Contiki tour.

Are there any particular ways of saving money on the purchase of a specific Contiki tour (20 day European experience)?

Paying 6 or 12 months early is the best way to get a discount. They also do early bird discounts for the first few months of the year for Europe tours.

Might be worth using a proxy server to check how much they're selling the same tour in overseas markets such as the UK. I got a friend to book a tour for me from there and paid almost half the price of what they were selling it here, after conversion. This was a while ago though, different tour company and I can't remember the exchange rate at the time.

Definitely try booking from the UK/EU - it is often a lot cheaper.

Definitely book through a European site. Just change .au to the country of choice.

For my daughters trip last year UK was cheapest. Much cheaper than through Australian portals including for the same companies!

She used Top Deck rather than Contiki as well.

Look at this site: Adventure Holidays | Adventure Travel | True Traveller

Thank you, I will check them out. Booking ex-Uk is so obvious, I apologise for not thinking of that sooner.

Having been on many of these tours with various companies ( Contiki , TopDeck , Bus about) Contiki would be far the best option for a 18yr old that likes to party with a bunch of other aussies ... Top Deck has a older group of people and more multi national .... They are a great way to experience Europe for the first time.

I booked most of my trips via UK site, however I had to use a UK address at the time ( just used a mates)
