We've had an ANZ Qantas (Telstra) Visa Card from which we've gathered a bundle of Qantas Frequent Flyer Points. In the past, we recieved a little white booklet once a year or so which contained the various reward claim options. Haven't seen one for some time!!!! Included in this was the option to convert points to a cash credit against either one's ANZ Qantas Telstra Visa Card credit card OR one's Telstra bill. There were also a bundle of other options.

I'm having a devil of a time trying to find out how to do this. Does anybody know whether one can still claim these 'cash' rewards against either our ANZ Qantas Visa Cards or our Telstra account. And if so, how one goes about it.

Love to know and hope somebody can please help with any info. Thank you.

Cheers. LJ

Welcome to AFF, westgirl.

ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa points are immediately transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account - this commenced in June 2003.

The only reward options are those available under the Qantas Frequent Flyer Programme - which are flights, rental cars and hotels.

Some people have attempted to "sell" award tickets - but if you're caught, Qantas will take you to the cleaners.

So unfortunately, no cash options with this card. In fact, this card is (now) one of the worst rewards credit card in Australia.

Thanks Willyroo

Thanks for delivering the bad news Willyroo. Sounds like this is a card worth parting with. Maybe replacing the WORST in oz with the BEST in oz would be a good move. Appreciate your reply, though not what I'd wanted to hear. lol

The question WESTGIRL needs to find out, is whether or not she has an established QFF account with ??? QFF points in it...... that she can still claim.

If she didn't sign up for QFF scheme upon opening her ANZ credit card account, or at some later time.... then, there may be NO POINTS at all in her name anywhere by this time!

Always keep track of your points (and the options open to you) at all times. Never treat them like 'blue chip' shares, and just 'forget' about them, because even 'blue chip' companies go down..... and so you once great frequent flyer and credit card rewards programs!

What's next in 2005?

regards.....

Westgirl, we ditched our ANZ QT cards after 8 years loyal usage after they brought in the points cap. Moved to Westpac Altitude and have been happy so far. We've always had AMEX's as back-up, and these have now become our primary card due to the MAXIMISER promotion they're runnung (1.25pts for ever $1), well worth the $25 promotion fee.
