Event: 3 hours with 26 Coonawarra wineries. Typically it’s the winemaker, vigneron, or the owner that shows up and does the pouring. Top chance to taste a huge selection – easily more than 100 wines on pour, and an opportunity to ask questions and get real answers from the producer.

Time, Date, Place: 5-8pm on August 12 at The Ivy

Please note the tour is going to other cities and I hear it's pretty much the same format, just different nights, different venues, and a slightly different line-up at each city (check out the link above for further details). So other AFFers in other cities - by all means get your own gaggle going.

At this stage I definitely can't make the Melbourne one, so will see how I go.

For all those attending the Coonawarra Wine Tasting, we are meeting on the corner of Martin Place and George at 5pm today. And will head down to the Ivy. For those coming later, speak to Jamie on the door and he may be able to point you to our group. If not, then PM through AFF. I'll try to regularly look and will leave my number with Jamie too.

I'd suggest pacing yourself and getting to speak to the winemakers and owners there. It's not everyday you get to meet so many of the great and good of the Aussie wine world. Also, we'll be heading out for a casual BYO meal afterwards, and we are likely to have some join us whose names you'll spot on the odd bottle or two!

It should be a great night. Really looking forward to it. See you there if you are going.
