Has anybody stayed in either of the above ?
What is your feedback ? Pros ? Cons ?

Trisara is considerably more expensive (as in, double lol) so just wondering if you get what you pay for. One review said the beach at The Shore was disgusting.

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated.

Perhaps there are other romantic beachfront villa types that I should consider ?

Cheers

Can't offer any advice on the nominated properties......however, I've stayed here coughet Pool Villa coughet Sri Panwa Luxury Hotel coughet Resort Spa Thailand it might be worth looking at if you decide Trisara is the way to go.

Haha did you say "if you decide Trisara" because of the price ?
Sri Panwa looks like quality.
Trisara came to about $4800 for 3 nights.
The Shore is around $2100.
Sri Panwa looks to be around $2800.

I think I won't go Trisara, just can't justify it. Will give Sri Panwa a closer look.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Interesting how all have similar ratings on Trip Advisor.
I probably can't go wrong in terms of quality of the accomodation. Might have to start looking at location, quality of beaches, etc, to narrow it all down.

Amaroo how far is Sri Panwa from the beach ? Is it a nice beach ? Would you chill/swim there ?

Actually $3100 if in a 1br luxury pool villa ($2800 was for a 1br pool villa).

Which room did you stay in Amaroo ?

It's away from the masses. They have a private beach which looked clean/nice however, we didn't bother with the beach - we live on the Sunshine Coast. They have their own fleet of boats which you can hire for day trips amongst a zillion other things they can arrange for you.

Restaurants were really good - staff professional, friendly & very service orientated. When we ventured out we had a hotel car/driver (provided for free:D) to take us everywhere......ate at a few places recommended by the owner (young chap) that were really good & spread over the Island.

I think you've sold me.
After looking at this all of a sudden the 130sqm room at The Shore seems so tiny.
And the pool at Sri Panwa seems so massive :cool:

In all honesty, if coughet is not a MUST destination - I would recommend Vietnam for your beach break.

We have a real soft spot for this place The Nam Hai Hoi An | 5 Star Boutique Luxury Hotel Vietnam | GHM Hotels have enjoyed two - week long stays.......and look forward to the third:D

In the pool size stakes......nothing comes close.

IMHO it beats coughet on every page.

Cheers for the info but yeh my gf is pretty keen on coughet coz all of her friends have been there, etc.

But yeh I have Vietnam on my bucketlist also. Always thought the Six Senses resort looked good Luxury Villas & Suites - Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
but the alternative that you posted actually looks better.

There's actually an early bird rate for bookings 30+ days in advance which required full prepayment but you save 24%.
So the full bill incl taxes for the 1bd luxury pool villa goes from ~$3300 to ~$2600

Hi Amaroo,

I've booked this last night for a stay in mid-August.

Apparently the restaurant/roof-top bar they have there (Baba pool club) is one of the best beach bars in the world.

Did you check it out whilst you were there and what were your thoughts ?

Cheers

Nice one - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

No 2 on the list:cool:.......the bar was very good & a happy place to be. We didn't take full advantage as it was a family holiday.

Can recommend having Sashimi delivered with ice bucket cold beers to your private pool:D

Enjoy your stay:cool:

And enjoy we did :mrgreen::cool:
Many thanks for your recommendations mate, this place really was everything we would expect it to be and more.
The views from the villa were phenomenal.
Class. Pure class.

The only downside is that we only stayed 3 nights.

Phew, thats a relief;):cool::D

Really ecstatic that you liked it. It's a beautiful place and very peaceful!

Any chance of a TR? Maybe a photo or two to wet my appetite to return. Did you enjoy the bar/baba?

Sorry for the late reply been very busy since my return.
For my last few holidays, I foolishly tend to arrive on a 6-6:30am flight and go straight back to work on the same morning lol with the thinking that I am "maximising" my holiday time but it's just very exhausting especially on that first day.

Not much of a photo person so only have a handful of photos but will do a mini-TR once I have a chance possibly over the weekend.
The baba/bar was nice - I will include mention/pics of this also.
