Could such a model work in Aus?

Surf Air is launching a "all you can fly" model on the west coast of the US this summer.

All-You-Can-Fly Airline Surf Air To Launch In California This Summer

Wondering if such a service could exist in Aus? Maybe called country air running regional flights say between dubbo, Bathurst wagga and Sydney? Or maybe such a model on a bigger route such as Sydney, cairns or sunshine coast?

One can only dream of new and innovative models appearing over here

Rex use to sell "all you can fly" one and two month passes to backpackers, don't know if they still do though?

I smell failure on the horizon.

I think the basic idea is good, but the execution of this seems to be a scam…

Assuming you couldn’t earn miles, and the unlimited guest passes were limited somehow, it could work. But it all seems too good to be true at this stage.

"We foresee our members forming personal and business bonds on our flights as they experience the benefits of this exclusive travel club," Wade said.

With unlimited guest passes as a founding member I think I might take the girls from Playboy Mansion on a flight with me… and I’m sure it could get quite personal.

Actually reading it, it's a very clever way to ensure a $1.1 million turn over in the first 3 months, and that's based on 500 members (which is what they are aiming for) all paying a minimum of $790 (which by the wording only suggests some of the memberships will be that cheap). They then schedule enough flights (and not too many) around to ensure that the initial money from the first 3 months will cover them properly, it's actually a very good way to do a start up.

If they simply went in and offer $100 airfares on their aircraft (which I assume they could also do) they may get people who do 2 trips a month, but that still falls way short of the $790 a month they could get by having "all you can fly", plus they wouldn't have a guarantee of BIS for any flight they schedule.

I don't know if such a service would be overly successful here. California has one and a half times the population of Australia, in an area half the size of New South Wales.
