Just booked 2 x J over and 2 cattle class back CNS/HK/CNS April next, no info on QFF site so had to call them, they ripped 2,500 points each as its the only way it can be booked these days, I asked why this is so, was told because the data CP provide can't be used on their site!, OK but its not my falt, its QF's. what a bloody joke.

Was advised if I have enough points and seats are available for J on HK/CNS sector it will cost me another 5000 points in total.

Don't QFF want to keep their customers?? because I'll be leaving them after this episode.

It's disappointing Limewood, and I agree that QFFers should not have to cough up the 2.5K points in this situation. It is reasonably well known, in this commiunity at least, that this is the case for award flights on CX (I'm not suggesting you should have known, just noting that I am forewarned). I may be looking for a MEL-HKG award on CX myself shortly, and whilst if I do find one I will be protesting the points gouge up to a degree, but I don't anticipate getting it waived, so I'll just live with it - certainly not suffcient grounds for me to take my business elsewhere (I've got a QP membership to service :)).

If you do decide to 'drop' QF/QFF. be sure to let them know why.

Look on the bright side - you did get the J awards!

I don't fly much anymore so points are accumulated now from purchases and we usually use them every 2 years, so another FF program may be better, but being in Cairns it's not an easy place to fly from or too internationally unless via a capital city which makes it a longer flight and at our age not welcome.

Will have enough points for J back from HK soon, so going to argue my case next month about not paying another 5000 again.
