do you think this is real??

wow LA-Sydney First Class $1241! Available on Airbus 380 on some dates as well! Travel through March. Sample dates March 17-24.

was posted on a travel site about a hour ago.

I am glad that it is gone - all those cheap F fares will be sucking up the potential upgrade seats ;)

Re: do you think this is real??

looks like a expensive mistake by AA!!

Re: do you think this is real??

Yup was real. Some people even managed to have AA ticket it (and allocate seats in the F cabin).

I got as far as getting it to display on multiple booking engines, but when you go to book it 'sorry the fare has changed' and was re-priced around $19k USD.

I was going to book one :( Oh well:)

yeah same here!!!! was worth flying to USA and going back return first!!! killer SC RUN!!!! see some guy has 6 on hold!!

it looks like about 25 people got them on other forum is honored it is a HUGE loss to AA on these!

Re: do you think this is real??

I just had a quick look through the posts. Seems to me like a fair few people jumped on and grabbed 'em. Wow, it didn't take long, almost like sharks in the water waiting for the airlines to slip up.

Guess we just have to wait and see what happens.

Ohhh, why can't i ever get anything like this or see anything like this.... Damn lucky coughs!

What would that work out per SC per $.

I remember seeing the screen shot, ouch. :(

Who spends their time searching for those cheap fares.

If there were only 10-20 people then AA might just have to wear it; as long as its ticketed; I don't like the chances of someone who have it on hold. :-|

Personally, I wouldn't believe it untill my bum is on that F seat and the miles/SCs credited in my account...!

There may be some members on this board with an issued e-ticket for one of these fares...

If, hypothetically, there were, they may not want to draw attention to their exact circumstances in the event that that their genuine belief in the validity of the fare was to be questioned based on anything they happened to post on this site.

They would have a big smile on their face today though :);)

I am unhappy to report that I am not one of the lucky ones :!:

do you think AA will allow it? or just refund with a sorry.....??

Okay. TOO good to be true.
Does anyone else sniff a Bestflights "R" class sale? Despite R being Y+ ?

But still... WOW! :shock::shock::shock:

(edit) This is a Q basis fare.... Q does not earn SCs on QF with AA tickets - refer to the FT thread.... Q as F ? ?

The Q fare basis is after they discovered the screw-up. The people who have had theirs ticketed by AA all confirm that it's an A class fare basis, and they have been able to select seats in the F cabin.

Now to see if AA do what Aer Lingus did... "Ooops sorry. You knew it wasn't real. We'll refund you or put you in Y".

The $499 fare is available in Y (Q Basis).

Why not, mistakes happen, $35 SYD-PER fares for instance:shock:

Earning on QFF relates to the carrier and the cabin class booked.

Say you had a booking MEL-HKG-MNL on a Business class fare; booked in D MEL-HKG but Business class was waitlisted on CX HKG-MNL due to no availability in D - so booking was in B class for that segment.

If the waitlist does not come though and the passenger travels in economy HKG-MNL, they will earn Discount SC even though the fare class was business.
