Hi,

i am new here been reading posts for the last few weeks. I havent found an answer to my question.
I am looking at getting a wetspac krisflyer CC and was wondering if they points i accrue go towards the krisflyer card upgrades to silver and gold status?

Welcome to AFF.

Unfortunately no. Just ordinary miles, no elite (status) miles.
Pity you missed out on the 3 for 1.

If you want easy status when you fly Singapore Airlines, credit your miles to another *A program, e.g. Asiana Club or Air Canada. 40k in Asiana Club within 2 years will get you *A Gold (lounge access, 20kg extra luggage, etc) for up to 48+1 months.

Also an option to buy upgrades with the KF points.

But the tradeoff is that the burn rates are ridiculously bad. At least for Asiana. Don't know about air canada though, are you able to give some insight into that futaris?

The burn rate for Asiana is only terrible on some routes. It's like everything in the FF game, you have to look for the good value ones. In general if you're picking routes at the top end of their mileage brackets (such as PER-SIN at the top end of Z2 or SYD-LAX at the top of Z5) then they're fairly comparable to other programs. Just depends on your habits. And of course the real bonus with Asiana is that they offer *A Gold status to people who would really struggle to get it on any other program.
