Hi I need some advice...

I'm after a gold/platinum card which will cover me when using redemption flights from my current FF schemes, where I'll only be paying for taxes. So far I've seen ANZ Gold which only requires $250 of pre-spend, but I want a card that gives rewards as well if possible. Are there any available? All others I've seen require you to pay for the tickets on the card.

A very tough one to find.

Some (CBA / Amex) will cover you when you purchase a ticket using "their" points. I don't know of any that will cover you when only paying taxes etc (although with the current extortionate fuel levies, maybe you would be over $250 easily on a simple trip!)

You may have to buy your own insurance to cover your points/trips made with points. I believe most cover both the points value and any emergencies etc while away.
