I had booked PE from SYD to MEL and scored a rouge aircraft last week (without a PE section)... Received an email from Virgin with an apology and a $170 credit to my account... I have 12 months to use it on any VIrgin blue flight... Just call the customer service line and book the flight via them... Thanks virgin... Will look forward to using it soon...

Did you receive all other PE inclusions apart from the seat space?

If you had elected to receive a credit card refund instead of a DJ credit voucher, which I did following a similar issue last August, I would have suggested that you don’t assume it will show up in your account. My refund still hasn’t been processed despite repeated requests from my TA to DJ and she has a corporate contact - if I was dealing with the call centre I might have given up on it by now, which is probably what they hope will happen.

gee all of the DJ planes I have flown on have been rouge.:p:lol::p:lol:

I shall refrain from launching a throw-the-book-at-you tirade at both of you for relying on your Apple devices for an elementary skill known as spelling....

Would you like to dismount your small pony please and realise that not everyone is ineffectual at spelling or too lazy to care. Apple's auto-correct feature is highly annoying and defaulted to change the words as you type them. It's very easy for your correctly spelled word to be changed after 3 letters because the iPad knows better than you what you meant. Just type the name 'Ikea' into an iPad for an example of how frustrating this feature can be.

Well, can't you turn it off? (Auto-correct, that is)

I was on a rogue aircraft last night - it had skinny seats with one of those bumper things between 1D and 1F. No live2air. (Though oddly it had heaps more legroom than normal.)

The flight attendant remarked (without me even asking) that they won't be giving any credit for this aircraft since it had the bumper.

I really can't wait until they get a proper biz class!

I ended up on a rogue flying SYD to PER in late December which still had the middle row tray but still got an unprompted credit from VB a few days later for the fare.

At the time I thought it was a brand new plane which was rushed into service since it was completely unpainted but assumed it was a one off since I'd only lucked out on getting non L2A equipped A/C twice in 2-3 years with VB. I didn't make a big deal about it and didn't even mention it to the cabin supervisor.

The CS had a digeplayer ready for me to use for the during the flight instead and the seats didn't feel too much different to the usual PE seats so I wasn't really worried. Still got all the other PE product and the dream pack which I assumed was probably a throw-in inclusion to partially make up for missing out on L2A and smaller seats on the AC since I didn't get one on the PE flight PER - SYD 4 or so days earlier.

Ended up being $320 credit email which surprised me because I wasn't expecting it.

The aerobridge operator at PER said to the CS after it docked that she had to do a double take when the plane pulled up without any paint on it and they briefly chatted about it being a little different to the other AC

Am told as of 1 March, all Boeing 737 aircraft are now fitted with Premium Economy seating with rows 1 and 2 permanently fixed. Although most aircraft do have Recaro convertible tables fitted, some have been permanently fitted with bolster tables.

As Premium Economy seating is now available on all aircraft, compensation is no longer offered for rogue aircraft.

Premium Economy is now limited to 8 Guests per aircraft
B737-700 are now restricted to 140 Guests and B737-800, 176 Guests
Row 3 is no longer used for Premium Economy seating

Economy Guests may be seated in rows 1 and 2 where required, however will not receive the Premium Economy product unless they are sat in the same half row as a Premium Economy Guest.

That would suck to be the paying PE while the guy next to you gets opup'd to PE and gets the same product as you by virtue of you being there first.

Yep, row 3 seems to be reserved for high status velocity pax now even though the row is still fitted with the red convertable seats. You don't get complimentary food or L2A but who cares if you're getting the extra pitch for the cost of a GO! fare.

I expect it will probably get ditched once PE gets eventually replaced by business class.

I got allocated 3C both ways PER-SYD-PER on the weekend automagically at OLCI on my GO! fare.. felt weird sitting in PE without buying it for the first time in a while.

PER-SYD there was noone in 3B or 3E but SYD-PER 3ABCDEF were all full. I think the whole flight was sold out actually.

Row 3 allocation seems to be an soft VG benefit that has recently started happening according to other threads in here.

Another strange thing that happened on the SYD-PER leg was complimentary L2A for all pax (foxtel channels only I think). I've never seen the CS give free L2A gate to gate before, usually only happens if L2A is playing up really badly for a big number of pax during the flight.

Maybe Virgin are loosening up the reins a little and giving the CS some options.

IMO the new menu is a winner - the roast beef pannini was tasty, the pie was actually pretty good and the ice cream sandwich was awesome.

From Virgin Blue on Twitter:

@jdevereux3 -> @VirginBlue: Could you tell me if compensation is still being offered for PE guests who end up on the Rogue fleet?

@VirginBlue -> @jdevereux3: No, and the reason for this is because all 737 aircraft are now fitted with PE seating with variations across our fleet... such as some have blue seats, however they all feature 2 abreast PE seating, 34” seat pitch and a permanent table for use

So I take that as all the Rogue A/C have now been fitted with some type of PE product (Temporary or otherwise) :D

I guess they have moved the front seat forward a few inches on these "rogue" aircraft - and maybe row 2 back a little.
