Just reporting in a good QF experience!
My son and I flew up to Cairns last week as a mini-break and status run. We flew PQQ-SYD-BNE-CNS return in discounted business class (other than the Dash 8 flights between Port Macquarie and Sydney), paid with a points earning card.
I was constantly expecting cancelled flights as I'm three for three of my last flights cancelled or changed. However, six different flights, six different crews, and we couldn't be happier with the service. All flights left bang on time (I mean to the minute) and arrived bang on time or a even few minutes earlier. The cabin crew were professional, friendly and helpful. The 737s are showing their age and use but were still quite comfortable. Our very last flight in the Dash 8 up to Port Mac started boarding five minutes late but it turned out they had to do a last minute plane swap - that they could do it so quickly and still get away on time was remarkable (I note the poor people flying to Canberra at the next gate were not so lucky though).
We got 220 SC each which took us both up to Silver. Now waiting for a DSC offer and see if Gold is doable but I'm not holding my breath for DSC anytime soon.
Thought it was worth reporting, maybe Qantas is turning a corner?
