Hi

I am thinking about travelling to the USA on points next year. Unfortunately I was convicted of armed robbery of a restaurant some years ago. To be clear, it was not me that pulled the trigger, but my partner. I was later involved in some white collar crime, but nothing was proven.

My question is: If I book a JASA seat, will I be allowed in the lounge in LAX?

Thanks in advance

There is no criminal record check to get into the lounge, no.

Getting into the USA? Yes. You will need to apply for a visa and probably won't get one. Sorry.

Sam is right. There is some real doubt that you will get a USA visa, suggest you apply ASAP.

Great! It looks like I can get into the lounge!

Regarding the visa, I don't understand why there is an issue. I am sure everyone has committed a youthful indiscretion at one time or another. Are there companies that can sort this out, sort of like a "low doc" home loan?

I think you should try and apply for a Visa or ESTA and let us know how you go.

Mind you, there would be several of us unable to travel to the USA if some of us had a.... 'youthful indiscretion'... emblazoned in the form of some sort of traceable record (criminal or civil).

Based on the blase nature of your question and answer, I assume you're having a laugh, which is fine. So to humour you - armed rob is not an indiscretion, and it will disqualify you from ESTA and make it unlikely you will be successful in receiving a visa. There are no companies that can legally 'sort this out' for you.

And there was a gun involved that was fired during this 'indiscretion'? Oh come on...

Pinching a bar mat in Thailand was enough for the US to say no to a certain mum a little while back, that should give anybody who is unsure what sort of benchmark is being used when it comes to denial of visas/ETSAs.

Yes there is no humor shown by LOTFAB in this regard.

But isn't the lounge airside? Maybe I could go the without clearing immigration?

Other OPs are avoiding your question. No, you won't have access to the lounge in LAX because you won't be allowed into the USA ;);)

If we wish to be technically correct there is only one OP in this thread.

Also I believe there may be a special and exclusive lounge available for people going to the US without the required entry documents. ;);)

Of course, another question the OP might like answered is whether they will be allowed on the aircraft.
