Are you experiencing symptoms of The Wanderlust? Do you feel:
[ ] Trapped in your own home or office?
[ ] Like you haven't taken a vacation in years?
[ ] Consumed by thoughts of exotic lands?
[ ] All of the above?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you have the Wanderlust. In celebration of our newly enhanced relationship, American Airlines and British Airways have found the cure. Together we will turn four travelers into Miles Millionaires*.

To become eligible to enter The Miles Millionaire Contest, register, then book a qualifying round-trip transatlantic flight on American Airlines, British Airways or Iberia now through June 17, 2011, and complete your travel on or before June 30, 2011. Once you complete your travel, you'll receive an email** with details on the contest entry process. You just have to creatively answer this question: "If you were cured of the Wanderlust with 1 Million Miles, where would you go and what would you do there?"

And, each time you fly a qualifying transatlantic roundtrip in full-fare Economy Class (fares booked in Y or B) or higher^ during the promotional period, you will earn 20,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles. So, even if you don't win, you can use your bonus miles to take a vacation and stave off the Wanderlust just a little longer.

However, don't you love the usual T&C's, effectively cutting most of us out of accessing this promo:

However, we do have a couple of members here that might be eligible (looking at ozmerish), plus others who do reside in USA ;).

OK Lindsay what our odds on winning using all the available technology that you have at your fingertips?
On AA is it something like 40 million multiplied by about 1% who could be eligible multiplied by 20% who register divided by the number of prizes?
Should we do dinner instead?

What available technology do I have at my fingertips - I probably don't know how to use it

Definitely. Trying to get to Perth soon to see clients, so will have an overnighter. Dinner is on!

1 in 40,000 working with those numbers.

Meloz

Now to hone up our vocabulary and numerical skills we are all watching "Letters and Numbers" on SBS One. Yes it is a low budget show for the whole family that we tape then wait for everyone to get home.
So much easier than cryptic crossword puzzles.
Coming back to AA,do they have something like 40 million Frequent Flyers or was it just one passenger who had 40 million miles?
Lindsay I got a different number to meloz so we had better run with that figure as it is better odds than I was thinking.
Perth is available at 30% points off namely 25,200 points so you can do the trip if you book now for less than $200 return.
Dinner in Perth would be a great idea and with 1 Million AA points you could have some serious fun.
The points sale is on for just a few days!

cove, I am considering using my 30K available AA miles to fly one way in Business (so there goes 17,500) and then using my available QF points for a JASA for the return sector, so negligible cost for this trip.

Saving up my points purchases for next year's trip to USA, so will be doing max purchases x 4 (all of us have AAccounts) nearing the end of this year and again next year. Have to get through the 7 weeks in Europe first

I thought you might succumb to the QF sale on points but it is only economy class so J works great.
You still have a bit of time to pick up an economy winner for a shorter run.

Nah, I need the SC's as I won't have any in the 7 weeks I'm away, as those flights are award.

You could pay someone's tax bill and get a million points for $6,500 using a point a dollar Visa or $8,333 on a 1.5 point/ dollar Amex card.
Don't wait until you are 60 as that Wanderlust could be solved each year!
