Hi all - flying QF24 in J from BKK to SYD in mid-December (QF Plat status). Been a while since I've been through BKK, wondering what the current lounge access options are? From what I've read maybe Qatar and JAL? These seem preferable to the Miracle lounge, but happy to hear from those who've been through more recently than me!

We were sent to Emirates. Didn't want to go to Miracle, also JAL was closed at that time, this was 3 weeks ago. Didn’t think to ask about Qatar, but happy with Erirates.

I was there on the 8th, checkin agent told me only miracle and emirates, I asked re Qatar and they insisted I needed a card???

I was early so I started on in emirates, nice lounge and quite only about 8 people inside.

At 4.20pm I walked down to Qatar premium lounge and walked in when it open, showed my boarding pass, which was scanned, then they asked to take it to make a copy, but I was allowed in, had some champagne and an Al a carte meal, just enough time before QF24 boards.

The oneworld site show QR currently opening 3:30pm daily. Did you mean it was opening as you walked in or was it already open.

They had a sign out front which said opening at 4.25pm, when I walked past at 3.30pm ish. It opened about that time after I walked back, myself and 2 others were waiting.

I assume it's a temporary change...

Incidentally no other QF24 business passengers utilised the lounge while I was there, just the 2 QR passengers. I did see a handful in the Emirates lounge.

Thanks... Off topic, but I had a C class BKK-KUL on MH coming up with a 5pm departure. I have changed it to a later 6:40pm. (Cost THB15)

Gotta be better than the Miracle lounge.

I was in the Miracle lounge recently and it was far better than I had remembered it. Either my memory is hazy or they have done some work there. Not a huge selection of food but several chefs on duty and there were about 4 or 5 options on display and you could order it and took only a minute or so to prepare.
Had a freezer that contained delicious little tubs of ice cream and whilst I didn’t try the wine they had a couple of selections and the standard range of beers, soft drinks and spirits. Chairs were comfy enough.

There are two versions of the Miracle lounge, one "First" which is not available to MH J PAX) and yes, they are both "OK". Going by what I have seen elsewhere, the QR lounge may be some degree of magnitude better. Of course you need to be travelling oneworld Business or First class to access the QR lounge.

Oh absolutely the QR lounge would be much better was just stating that I found the Miracle lounge much better than I had remembered.
We flew BKK-KUL on MH in J as the PG codeshare which was about $300 cheaper per person. At checkin we were given the invitation to the Miracle lounge and I was told when I asked that QR would not allow us in but I was free to check with the lounge dragons. I couldn’t be bothered and as only a shortish wait was happy to slum it out in the Miracle lounge

Presumably the Bangkok Airways not being *O would be the reason.

(A bit like WP travelling JQ/3K operated flights, Miracle lounge or bust ...)

Couple of months ago, there was more staff than guests in the BKK QR lounge. I was there for breakfast on a AY business ticket.

I fly this route alot, On the way in make sure to use the business class entry.
I usually hop between JAL, Cathay, Qatar and Emirates
Qatar - Al a carte but very Over the top. The surf and turf was nice as well as the smoke salmon and hommus.
JAL - Bathrooms are awesome with heated seats and auto bidet
Cathay - This has the best bar experience. Sit at the bar with your own barista and very friendly. Noodle bar is OK pretty average
Emirates - Finger food selection is awesome and serve yourself

Personally i would start at Emirates, onto Qatar, then cathay then JAL before your flight.

That should just about leave enough room for something on the aeroplane then.....🤭🤪😁
