Hi AFFers,

I've been reading and re-reading VA's flight change website to try to find some clarity, but am still confused, so hopefully one of you knows for sure:

"Booking changes - permitted up to midnight, day prior to departure".

My first thought was that it means changes are not permitted from 12:01am on the day of departure. However, the fact that they've added in the words "day prior to departure" rather than just leaving it as "permitted up to midnight prior to departure" indicates to me that they mean that changes are restricted from 12:01am the PREVIOUS day (ie if my flight is on 6am Tuesday, changes are not allowed from 12:01am Monday).

Am I overthinking things?

Possibly... I read that as changes being allowed until 23:59 the day before the flight. i.e. if your flight was on Tuesday, you could make any changes until 23:59 on Monday night.

If you were going to make changes less than 24 hours out, also make sure you don't check in online. Once you've checked in, you're bound to that flight.

Thanks Matt, looks like you were right - managed to cancel a flight for tomorrow and they credited the travel bank.

Changes are permitted up to the day before the flight. If you are ticketed for Tue 12/04 then you can make changes up to and including 11:59pm (not exactly midnight) on Mon 11/04.
