Hi everyone,
I need some assistance with my predicament please.
I booked 2 PAX RTW in U class through qantas back in Sept for July22 and had been ticketed constantly after slight time changes up until March 10th.

We had another notification of a CX flight time change by 20mins last Thursday which I noticed was not then ticketed. I checked the MBB on qantas and all partner airlines yesterday and noticed the following flights missing:
CX SYD-HNK-JFK
QR CDG-DOH-DXB
QR DXB-DOH-NRT

If I download my itinerary from MBB it comes up with all flights, issued March 10th.

From a previous thread, I came to the conclusion that Qantas failed to reissue tickets after last weeks flight change, which caused CX and QR to autocancel our legs.

Since this was clearly Qantas fault, whats the best way to push to ensure we can keep our U flights to the destinations we need to be? I have called the call centre and they said the business rewards seats were no longer available so I got them to escalate it to Oneworld distruptions desk. They said to wait 24hrs for a response.

I've not got much hope for them to reinstate the seats so I'm wondering how I could push this further if they do not. We're devestated since both QR long legs were in Q Suites and that was our biggest reason for collecting points and booking this trip. We've also just booked some non refundable trains and budget flights through Europe last week totalling $3k as we thought it seemed safe enough to now do so.

We're veey worried that Qantas will say that there would be only a few options such as:
- Rebook us to non ideal economy awards which will feel like a waste of our 318k points x2 but might need to take if we want to get there.
- Find no suitable seats meaning theyll either change our whole booking to individual point legs for whats left and paid flights for the missing legs, which would 100% result in us cancelling and losing our 3k.

Basically, just need to know what my best approach would be if they leave us with those options even though this is on them. We wernt even notified of the flights being removed, found out myself and cant imagine how bad it would have been if we turned up to the airport.

Appreciate the help 🙏

It's super stressful and frustrating that it was done without notification, please let me know how you go with trying to reinstate them.
Absolutely. I’m waiting for a call back from this morning (I doubt that will call) which means I need to follow it up again tomorrow

Im not sure because I have no idea what that means but it was showing in my bookings for at least 3 weeks
There is a booking reference (six characters long) which can be just a place holder for the flights and can include multiple pax. Then there is a ticket number (13 numbers long) that is issued when the ticket is actually issued. Each passenger has a unique ticket number. With out a ticket number, meaning the ticket is confirmed and issued, then the booking will just drop off.

Here is a picture example form unitied airlines. Ticket number highlighted in white.

You can use check my trip to look up the booking reference and then see if there is a ticket number for the passengers. CheckMyTrip: Your personal travel app

Just been ticketed straight after a slight change in one of the standing flights in the itinerary today so now the new ticket is without the missing flights too.
They definitely missed ticketing after the previous time change.

Was concerned so called them up and asked for a follow up. Nice lady that got onto OneWorld. She said that they have stated that they are aware of the issue and will be looking into it. Told me I would get a direct call from them but I thought only Qantas call centre would make those calls?
Not sure if thats a positive sign or not but I'll take whatever I can get right now lol, will follow back up if I dont hear anything from them by tomorrow arvo.

Another update.. Called up this morning trying my luck at landing a Hobart call centre but ended up with Cape Town.

Easily the most pleasant experience I had from a Cape Town worker (name: Tembi but sounds like Tammy)
She looked into it, apologied and told me everything done previously wasn't done in the most accurate way.

She then asked for exact details of previous missing flights and checked for availabilities to book me back onto them. Said CXs flight from HKG to JFK was cancelled the only other viable one meant a 13 hour stop over at HKG. Likely that this was what triggered my issues.

Added those and the exact previous QR ones back to MMB (not in U class yet) with an email request to Oneworld to reinstate, explaining what happened (she read it out for me). Said she will also call both airlines right after our call and call me back if she has any luck that way.

Still not liking my chances with QR but at least have the peace of mind that it was done right.

Surprise surprise no callback from Qantas regarding the matter.

I called this morning. South African call center. Going nowhere fast. I have zero confidence.

How many more times do I need to call before I get someone competent?

I think anything involving CX and HKG is now high risk of cancellation. Meaning that even if they get you onto alternate CX flights, the same thing could happen next week, next month etc.

Are you able to restructure the trip to avoid it?

I’m on QR. The flights still are flying. The issue is Qantas didn’t get the ticketing sorted properly

Completely agree! Unfortunately I havn't been able to locate any rewards flights from SYD to JFK on the 23rd of July :(

My back up may have to be to see if I could get Qantas to force open a U reward seat to LAX or London via perth if CX falls through (was their fault not reticketing me after all). Then make my own way to NYC from there.

Qantas will open up LAX or DFW if a paid seat is available. They did this for me. The only issue is that AA have almost zero awards available (even via connecting cities) to JFK/LGA

That's interesting, good to know though
