Hi there, just wondering if anyone knows if you can enter the QF lounge when flying Jetstar with CX MP Gold status? Either domestic or international. Cheers

Not if booked as a Jetstar flight.

I tried to gain entry once. They explained that as JetStar is not a member of the OW alliance that entry is not given if the ticket was booked with JetStar, which includes booking through QF as a JetStar flight.

Luckily I was polite, smiled and I guess acted suitably mortified that the access was not granted as i said I had booked via Qantas ...so they let me in anyway.:)

I booked JQ SYD-MEL in December as part of the best price guarantee as a result of the $10 Tiger Sale. I will try to see if they will let me in using my BAEC Gold card (OW Emerald).

As mentioned, they are not obliged to.

If you have QC it is a different matter.

QC member = yes.
Status member booked as a QF code share = yes.
Otherwise = no.

Surprising how often this question comes up.

Jetstar is NOT a member of OneWorld, thus OneWorld status means nothing to them, and Qantas lounge access would not be given.

But the lounge people are not JQ but Qantas (i.e. OW) staff... :)

Not helped by JQ participating in some OneWorld fare products, not to mention QF Codeshares.

I know this, but for me it is whether I could get away with BA Gold :) ie whether lounge dragons would let me in.

There's a reason my answer was 'officially, no'. Unofficially, maybe you will get in. Maybe not.

There's a chance. I've heard of it happening before. But reports of it happening confuse those who genuinely don't realise Jetstar isn't a part of OneWorld.

Though as markis10 notes, there are other confusing factors too.

From my selfish point of view, I don't really care about confusing other people, but just to see if I can get in myself, unless I ask for status match to QF WP, which I think they would say no.
