Isn't the first and won't be the last (DUI) on any airline.

Lots of reports out of India as one example and some out of US.

I wonder how many are not caught and fly their sector.

How would this have been discovered? Random testing? Pilot inebriated and flagged by colleague or airport staff?

I doubt it will be the last but this is rare to be caught in Australia…

I like to know as well

I wonder if the thread title should be changed to say "former CX pilot" at this point...
A former CX pilot caught under the influence wouldn’t mean much. Anyway, the current thread title seems accurate enough.

Does every pilot get breath tasted before takeoff or is it a random thing? Seems like it would be something important enough that checking every pilot would be warranted.

I am assuming it’s random just like your roadside RBT unless obviously under influence and other people noticed it…

Correct. It’s random.

Have seen multiple media reports where fellow crew have requested an alcohol test which has subsequently resulted in the identified pilot being removed from duty.
