Wasn't sure if this is the best spot to post this or the QFF forum.

I have some CX travel booked for April 2016 - under the new QF partner earn, will this now earn SC? It was what I presume to be a sale / discount Y fare (not sure the bucket but I think N). Previously I don't think these would have earned SC but is this no longer the case now (ie all CX fares earn SC?)

Flavour of the year for airlines is not to award any points/miles or status credits on the cheapest economy fares. Their logic is you're getting on the plane at a near loss for them and that's good enough incentive without having to shell out frequent flyer points to the home FF airline. With this in mind - it's going to be more beneficial from a points earning perspective to credit this flight to Asia Miles so long as your flights are After April 16, which is the date when N class will earn miles on CX. Although the miles earned will still be hardly worth your time.

IMO: Forget the miles, keep your QF Gold number on the booking and enjoy the priority boarding/lounge and your low cost ticket.

You have to wonder how long before they start suggesting that status benefits also do not apply on cheaper fares.
