As per previous posts we are now in CX Y SYD-HKG-LHR with a small mercy of no positioning flights

I have QR Platinum which entitles me to extra legroom seat selection (as well as baggage and lounge access)

I'd prefer to credit the flights to BA but will that stuff up the seat selection if I change it?

And while we are at it, would that have implications for lounge access at SYD and HkG

Thanks

For the set selection use your QR number that that should get you access to the better seats, once selected then change to your BA number. I would check go back in a check that it has not messed with your seating, I don't think it will but have not tried on CX.

As for lounge access it is your OW status and flying on a OW carrier that gets your access, not who you are crediting points and status to. Although not exactly the same carriers I would see this as no different to when I have flown CX out of Japan, crediting points and status to QF and using the JL F lounge.

I think there is still some benefit in Y to be marked as a OWE though. I flew PER-HKG in Y as a OWE. I'm trying to remember exactly what it was I got that other pax didn't. I think it might have been they dropped off a bottle of water (maybe an amenity kit?) and I think I was served my food first. Pretty minor stuff really, but they do (well did) seem to have some unofficial onboard benefits for OWEs in Y.
