Am i the only one who is getting bored / unimpressed with the CX F Wing in HKG? Been here a few times now and the food selection is not the most extensive (e.g. the ala carte menu is fairly limited and the buffet section not that extensive - they dont even have a carb dish on buffet like fried rice, noodles or pasta!)

Walked over to the J Wing and they have a better buffet section with dim sum and noodles.

Went over to the Bridge for the first time and found out the had a more extensive buffet range (curry, soups,) salad range (had a pasta salad) even had satay at the long bar and was much quieter and cosier than the F!

Only thing that i see the F has over the J lounges are the alcohol, cabana and maybe the existence of a ala carte menu (albeit limited and not as good as QF F). Would be good if the new F lounge was modelled like the Bridge - quite impressed with it i must say.

Both insightful comments. Agree it depends on what you are looking for.

I for one love the noodles in KL at MAS and nothing else!

The cabin isn't shabby as well in honkers. Let's see what Qantas do there as well.

I wasn't impressed with their arrivals lounge this time around. Seems to be run more along 'contractor' style

I always liked the F lounge at the Pier because it was rather dull and characterless and therefore seemed to always be very quiet and relaxed. Closed for "groovification" at the moment so no doubt will be buzzing with excitement when it reopens.

The attempted formality of most F lounges leaves me cold I'm afraid.

I guess it depends on frequencies of visits. Personally for me I love the place as I'm only there a handful of times per year however I can imagine it getting a bit tired if I was there weekly, which would be similar for 95% of lounges.

Additionally, being HKG it's not like there's no other lounge options.

The lounge is OK and I usually find the food on offer OK.

Alcohol is much a personal preference and I do not need to be fussy like wine and bubbly drinkers. As long as they have a couple of simple beer choices and any brand of vodka and gin I am happy.

Not into cabana and very rarely do I have a shower in transit unless I have stayed in the airport overnight.

The Wing F is my second home these days and it does grow on you, no offence to the OP but you seem to have a carb fetish (The Bridge is definetely for you!) ;)

Its the subtle things you do begin to notice over time that it has over the J lounges: a much 'quieter' breed of pax, drinks waiter service etc and obv the cabanas and much superior drinks selection.

Agree on The Haven restaurant setup not being ideal - I solve this by just 'taking away' to the outside lounges which is much better over eating in the cafetaria.

Spot on - The Arrival is operated by Plaza

I do miss the whiskeys of the world smoking bar at the wing, I would almost take up smoking again if it made a reappearance.

Don't forget you can also order noodles (or anything else) from the J lounge in the F lounge if you wish.
