[h=3]Out of interest, Can anyone tell me what the rates are now?

Fuel surcharge[/h]
All Cathay Pacific tickets issued or re-issued* on/after 01 Jul 2012 for travel on/after this date will be subjected to new fuel surcharges. The surcharge will apply per flight sector, including children and infant fares. *Tickets re-issued under these conditions:

  • Change of first departure sector
  • Change of routing
  • Change of routing, due to other carrier’s flight schedule change or cancellation
The new fuel surcharges are as follows:

  • USD133.70 / HKD1043 / CAD140 / NZD171 (From USD149.20 / HKD1164 / CAD152 / NZD184) for flights between Hong Kong and Southwest Pacific, North America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent .
  • USD30.40 / HKD237 / NZD39 (From USD32.40 / HKD253 / NZD40) for flights not mentioned above, including flights to / from Japan, itineraries originated from Korea as well as flights between New York and Vancouver.

It is my understanding that they have actually decreased (and I thought it was YR for Cathay)

Down, along with the ex-tpe I-Class J Fares :) :)

I recently booked an AA Award flying CX hkg-syd J and the total taxes were $41. Pleasantly surprised - I can't imagine there was fuel surcharge in 40 odd dollars. My VS J redemption the other way was ~$250 in 'taxes'.

It's saying HKG to SWP will be over $130 in YQ now.
