On Friday 15 February, CX676 (A359 B-LRX) sunk into soft concrete during pushback at TVL in Israel.

Most embarrassing for the airport, and perhaps to a lesser extent the airline.

This new aircraft seems to be still there.

Why didn't the concrete 'cure', or was the base of soil beneath it incorrectly prepared? (Sorry, I am not an engineer nor do I have experience in civil construction).

All sorts of stuff can change bearing capacity of a pavement.
Most likely culprit is H20..via a cracked pipe.. steadily soaking and weakening until loaded and bingo
