I noticed when booking my JASA that searching for DFW did not yield any results but that DAL is the code used for Dallas Fort Worth. Yet when searching for a classic award DFW was the applicable code?

As Julius Sumner Miller asked, why is it so?

Are there other destinations where there is a different code according to the type of fare you're searching for?

Surely DAL is Love Field (also in Dallas) a totally different airport to DFW

Yes that name came up when searching. Still QF7 is going to take me there next year and in a first class seat to boot so I'm not really complaining.
