DAL v DFW

I noticed when booking my JASA that searching for DFW did not yield any results but that DAL is the code used for Dallas Fort Worth. Yet when searching for a classic award DFW was the applicable code?

As Julius Sumner Miller asked, why is it so?

Are there other destinations where there is a different code according to the type of fare you're searching for?

Surely DAL is Love Field (also in Dallas) a totally different airport to DFW

Yes that name came up when searching. Still QF7 is going to take me there next year and in a first class seat to boot so I'm not really complaining. :mrgreen:

Yes it is but that does not make sense.

No wonder QF8 has to keep making refueling stops in Nadi. You can't carry a full fuel load out of here, it's only 8,000 feet long.

Perhaps QF will get landing rights into DFW soon

It must really confuse the passengers not knowing which airfield to go to.
