the other more well-known and longer-standing Australian-made Italian wines are those of Dave Fletcher, and surprisingly Qantas are cheapest, including:

wineworthwritingabout:

Deep, dark purple in colour with a ripe and whole-bunchy nose of concentrated berries, cherries, violets, roast beef, white pepper and some salty pretzel!

In the mouth it's very creamy in texture and densely flavoured with dark berries, cherry jam, baked blueberry, white pepper, roast meat, clove, sweet herbals, vanilla and velvety chocolate. It's decadent, but not heavy...kind of like a Cote Du Rhone, except it has a heap of Australian warmth and voluptuousness to it. Although it is delicious, it's missing some tension, acid and structure to match its buxom juiciness and decadent texture, but for $30 i'm not complaining! It's a damn tasty wine
