Dare I suggest it but.......Where's Tiger?

Recently I was looking at options for a range of destinations and, not surprisingly, noted DJ and QF to be similar prices. What was alarming was JQ. In a number of searches, JQ was actually dearer.

We need another LCC flying comparable routes to keep JQ honest. Everyone seems to have forgotten the LCC market right now.

Frequently JQ is not the cheapest option.
The thing they have which is working for them right now is there is a whole subset of society who thinks JQ = cheap and thus won't look anywhere else.

I think this is the same subset of society that book through Flight Centres for the same reason.

I still see plenty of exasperated passengers running into the terminal at what must be minus 30 (TT checkin closed minus 45) asking "where's Tiger checkin". You usually see them again a few minutes later walking back asking "where do I go to buy a new ticket".
