Just wondering if anyone knows what the best airline partner(s) are via the DJ Membership rewards?

I've read the rules / faqs in regards to Malaysia airlines & Cathay Pacific, in which the points expire after 3 years. Are any of the partner airlines like qantas, as in the points don't expire as long as they are either used or added to?

  1. Air NZ
  2. Thai airlines
  3. Virgin Velocity
  4. Singapore Airlines
  5. Cathay Pacific
  6. Malaysia Airlines
  7. Edihad Airlines
  8. Virgin Atlantic

Also, does any aussie credit cards offer AA as an option?

DJ Amex transfers to Starwood which transfers to AA.

40,000 Membership Rewards points gives 20,000 Starpoints which gives 25,000 AAmiles.

Would you have a link / Faq's in regards to the transfer between Starwood & AA? I'm on both the sites now, but can't see anything.

Just found the info on the hotel website and signed up :)

What are the rules with AA in regards to points expiry?

What are the rules with AA in regards to points expiry?

AAdvantage members must have mileage earning or redeeming activity once every 18 months in order to retain their miles. If your account has no qualifying activity in any 18-month period, all miles in the account will expire. Each qualifying activity extends the expiration date of all unexpired mileage credit in your account for 18 months from the date of the qualifying activity. Qualifying activity is defined as redeeming any AAdvantage award or accruing mileage credit on any eligible American, American Eagle®, AmericanConnection® or AAdvantage airline participant as well as accruing mileage credit with participating hotels, car rental companies, credit cards, telecommunication providers, and other service providers offering AAdvantage mileage credit.

If it's AA miles you are after and you don't mind the $389 annual fee, the Diners Club + Mastercard combo (Diners Club Australia) earns you (after washing through SPG) 0.78125 AA miles per $ spent on the Mastercard, and 1.875 AA miles per $ spent on the Diners Club card... It also comes with international airport lounge access which I've found handy on many occasions and means I don't need to chase status just to get lounge access.

I dont make the cut to apply for the combo card :(

BUT I contacted DJ early last week asking if I can change from qff to member rewards.. Was warned it may fail (once every 12 months allowed; currently still in first year).

Checked my DJ account just now, which says I have no points, but showing options for member rewards. :)

Just gotta pile the bills onto it....
