I get a daily update when ever a change happens to the "Cheap International Airfares" forum.

It comes out at Midnight (10pm in Perth). But I just got it now (9pm in Perth).

To this end I was wondering has daylight savins started in NSW and or VIC?

I read a very serious letter to the editor in the newspaper on friday blaming daylight saving for the drought. It's that extra hour of sunlight each day that does it :!:

No, but it is where i whinge about not sleeping on Sat night as i had a 6am Sun morning flight and was wondering if my clocks didnt automatically change then would i be an hour earlier or later than the actual time. The thought process was pointless as it turned out as i was up and Facebooking (is that the term? Or is it Facebooki?) when the clock rolled from 1:59 to 3:00!

Nah that was in the other thread. ;)

Interesting that on the Telstra phone network it has Sydney as GMT +10 which gives the wrong time. Some glitch in their software? I have to manually change the time to AEDST....

You need updates installed so the computer etc knows DST started 4 weeks early. if you can't update, change your time zone to Hobart, they have always started at the beginning of October.

My Telstra phone automatically adjusted to DLST. The first time I changed time zones (MEL-PER) and turned it on it asked me if I wanted the time automatically adjusted. The joys of technology. :p Still haven't worked out how to SMS on it though.

What surprised me today was that a desktop that had not operated (aka been turned on) since April fired up with the correct time.

My flatmates telstra phone automatically switched to daylight time last weekend even though we live in Queensland, when he asked me was I getting up to get ready to go and see the airshow. I have a battery operated desk clock so who needs this great new technology.

I think it is Telstra that needs the updates installed. On my phone when I try to change the location Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart are all GMT + 10.0 which of course is wrong.

I will visit the Telstra shop downstairs later today and see if they have some answers.
