I'm booked SYD-LAX-JFK with VA and then on Delta within the USA. The 'Fare Family' is listed as a Flexi in Y and of course the Delta flight carries a VA number. I'm trying to work out if I have any upgrade options at all for that Delta flight. Happy to pay cash or points (didn't think the latter would be possible though). Any other advice as to what I might expect would be appreciated (I'm WP with VA).

Don't like your chances - to mu knowledge you can only upgrade with points on VA metal.

As for op-ups, no hope - Delta upgrades it's status members first, every time, before other carriers' elites.
