I’m amazed that everyone walked away from that.
There’s quite a bit of history for this sort of outcome. DC-10/MD-11s had a bit of a habit…

Looks like 3 pax taken to hospital in a critical condition (child, man in 60s, woman in 40s). Reports of up to 8 injured in total.

I wonder if we will see pics of pax with their carry on?

Edit, already spotted

Sadly, the footage seems to suggest it's more a case of playing "spot the passenger without their carry-on luggage".

I can imagine some real issues with getting yourself out of the seat belt, when left hanging upside down. Thinking about, it, it might be lucky that there aren’t more reported injuries, just from the fall from the seat.

I can’t imagine people being able to open the lockers, but I guess items stored under seats were now within easy reach.

Yeah, and probably made even worse with pax urgently trying to evacuate the aircraft rather than focusing on trying to safely extricate themselves from the seat.

But at least the overheads were now more accessible so not as much time taken to get their carry on baggage. ;);)

Exactly what my husband was just saying. I cant imagine being held upside down by a seatbelt and having to navigate getting down without hurting myself and then carry on. Edit, but I totally admit to being that person that will take video once Im clear of the plane

Nothing too major in this, mainly ground and tower controls post crash.

I also wonder how much harder the emergency doors in general would be to operate upside down. If different forces were needed, or now you're lifting in a much higher position type od deal.

Do those things get tested during certification? (Operations if the aircraft is upside down).

I saw videos of people with wheelie case carryon coming out. (By Instagramers taking videos AS THEY EXITED THE PLANE for their accounts, sheesh.)

I sincerely hope they were using the correct selfie-stick from their collection. Imagine having the phone camera lens too far away or too close to you. Might need a few takes to get the right cinematography.

Hat's off for the crew and passengers.

Gravity assisted.

DL and snow is not a good combination. 😉

Seriously though, I’m glad I can joke about it and that the outcome wasn’t more tragic. I hope those injured pull through swiftly.
