Delta Interline with V Australia

Thought members might be interested to know that we have signed an interline agreement with Delta allowing full access to each others networks. No codeshare or frequent flyer/lounge reciprocity has been announced.

A while ago when V Australia announced its interline deal with NW (pre merger), NW advised my friend to "look out for" frequent flyer reciprocity with V Australia. Though the merger with Delta might have thrown a spanner in the works on that front?

That's one way of looking at it. The other is to say that we had an interline agreement only with NW and now we have one with the merged entity....

That's one way of looking at it. The other is to say that we had an interline agreement only with NW and now we have one with the merged entity....

... and thus interpreting all that, the FF reciprocity with the merged entity shouldn't be far off from now.

Virgin Blue domestic network included, so you can buy a single ticket ATL-LAX-SYD-CBR for example (with either DL or VA on LAX-SYD).

Now when lounge reciprocity and some FF linkage are announced then I will know where my CC points go.meanwhile i will still preferentially use DJ out of MCY.

I'm pretty sure either Delta or United will pull out in favour of the codeshare. Strangely enough, my money is on UA letting VA have the MEL/SYD-LAX route and leaving UA with just SFO-SYD.

Hmm, surely an airline (UA, for example) wouldn't do one route without the other. If ultimately Delta/VA go to the more codeshare arrangement, it would seem likely that if someone left, it would be UA. Then the issue becomes *Alliance missing their direct coast-to-coast service, which I doubt they would want.

Maybe it could be Delta, but seems unlikely given their size and just starting the route they would pull out, but who knows...

That functionality will be added, although I believe we won't add the entire Delta US domestic network to our drop down list of destinations - just the major one such as Chicago, New York etc. Don't know off the top of my head how we will facilitate online booking of entire DL network.

Could you not allow people to put in airport codes or city names rather than having to choose from a picklist?
