I am flying into LAX on a VA flight. I then have a good few hours to kill until my flight to MEX. I have booked this with DL but understand it is operated by AM - but it does have a DL flight number.

As a Gold FF - will I be able to access DL's lounge at LAX?

Have you checked the VA website?

Yes thanks. It refers to access when holding a boarding pass for a Delta Airlines flight. That is why I am confused - I have a ticket issued by Delta, with a Delta flight number but apparently operated by Aeromexico - so not clear if this allows access.

The footnotes, unfortunately, say no:
Lounge Access with Velocity Membership | Velocity Frequent Flyer
Lounge access is only available when traveling on services marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and/or the relevant Velocity airline partner identified above. When travelling on codeshare services marketed by an airline partner but operated by carriers which are not Velocity airline partners as identified above, lounge access is not available.
