I've got some Delta flights coming up in the US and wondering what the latest experience has been with the reciprocal benefits. Any problems with lounge access when traveling on domestics flights, baggage allowance, priority boarding & screening?

I'm traveling with a colleague who has no status. Any idea if he can use some of my baggage allowance i get with VA gold?

Flights are LAX-SEA-SFO-LAS-LAX

Recently flew LAX - MIA, then JFK - SFO - LAX - SYD with Delta. Sky Priority was never an issue for security and boarding for any of those, but did have an issue in SFO with the Delta check in staff not recognising the Velocity Gold baggage allowance (32kg) for the SFO - LAX flight (the LAX-SYD was VA so no problems). She argued the case and tried to charge an excess baggage fee before the manager eventually came and put the baggage through with no charge.

Last Aug/Sep flew DL BUF-JFK-BOS and DCA-JFK. Had no problems with using priority check-in lane, priority baggage tags, access to lounges or priority boarding, though I was flying in F both times.

However, based on feedback here, I purposely rang up and requested to get the membership card without the cash card facility on it: that version has the Virgin Australia logo. The cash card version only has Velocity on it, and I've read on here some people having trouble convincing DL staff that Velocity IS Virgin Australia's frequent flyer program (!)

At both lounges they still did want to see the membership card in addition to my boarding pass.

a bit off topic, but I have the cash card membership card, but always travel with one of my luggage tags with me as it also has the virgin logo on it

Interesting. I flew SFO to LAX just one week ago and had no problem . Bags, lounge, priority.

I am VA gold.
always depends on who you get?

Does this then make the card with the Cash card on it void? or can you still use the cash card facility on the other card?

I don't use the cash card, sorry, so seeing I didn't have any cash loaded, I can't really comment on what would happen then. Perhaps worth a call....?
