Econ X Front zone, no need to help in an evac. Faster disembark. Tighter legroom. Option to take Row 3 which is bulkhead, bags in overhead only.
No recline on any emergency seat ever.. Also row 12 in front (non exit) has no recline as well I thinkDoes anyone know if the first exit row (Row 13) seats recline?
They’re locked for take off and landing. Cabin crew are supposed to unlock them after the seat belt sign is switched off.Does anyone know if the first exit row (Row 13) seats recline?
Really? They’re locked for take off and landing. Cabin crew are supposed to unlock them after the seat belt sign is switched off.
Yes. Ditto Row 12. They do forget a bit, but they can be unlocked to allow seat recline.Really?
Yes. This is common on most airlines with the possible exception of some low cost carriers. But on most legacy carriers the crew will unlock the recline after takeoff.Really?
Certainly would not hold my breath with VA. Just tried to move myself from row 13 to 14 (emergency exits) as VA Platinum and the app says can't move paid seats...they are free for Platinum and never paid for them in first instance. !! Well done Virgin......on BA and other European carriers you cannot recline emergency exit seats not and indeed can not recline either the seats directly in front of exits ever. So it is not just LCC. Recline button options simply not fitted.Yes. This is common on most airlines with the possible exception of some low cost carriers. Hmmm. I was actually going to use BA as an example where they *do* unlock the exit seats. Although as airlines are getting new slimline seats maybe they are removing that function.Certainly would not hold my breath with VA. I think the slimline seats has a lot to do with it plus pushing more seats in generally!!Hmmm. I was actually going to use BA as an example where they *do* unlock the exit seats. Although as airlines are getting new slimline seats maybe they are removing that function.
Exit row armrests aren't fixed on VA 737's (not sure about the ex-MI/KL ones though). More legroom in exit rows but like being closer to the front in 4/5.I would pick R4 or 5 the seat armrests are not fixed there is ample leg room and being R4 and 5 you are more likely to get a shadow.
R3/4/5 on VA are all Y+ seats and have the same amount of legroom if not more than the exit rows. I only called out R4/5 as the armrests are not fixed as they are in R3.Exit row armrests aren't fixed on VA 737's (not sure about the ex-MI/KL ones though). My issue is that sometimes I need a belt extender and for some reason they aren't allowed in exit rows. I learnt that the hard way after being booted from an exit row seat after boarding once.
